News from the Principal - Christmas Fair: Montessori in action

Congratulations to our Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 students who conducted a most successful Christmas Fair last week. The students were required to submit a business plan and profit forecasts to Andrea and Nathalie and they have been overjoyed to realise a significant profit on the day. Final totals will be revealed by the classrooms themselves, but suffice it to say, it was a HUGE success.

This is Montessori education as it should be, with our children learning about the practical application of skills they learn in the classroom – maths as they prepared business plans and dealt with money transactions on the day, literacy in planning documents, grace and courtesy in serving customers, building self-esteem by engaging in worthwhile projects such as this. I am so grateful to our terrific teaching team that they are truly embracing Montessori education and all that it stands for. Thank you to the parents and staff who supported the children by purchasing their wares. It was a terrific afternoon.
