WELCOME TO GISBORNE MONTESSORI SCHOOL
Gisborne Montessori School is a small, coeducational school with an enrolment of approximately 150 students, Gisborne Montessori School is nestled at the foot of Mt. Macedon on 10 acres. The school offers facilitated Playgroup sessions from 6 months, an Early Learning Centre, Kindergarten Programs, Primary Education to Year 6 and secondary school, starting with year 7 in 2022.

BIRTH TO 5 YEAR OLDS
Early Years
Children from birth to age six possess an 'absorbent mind'. The Montessori environment is designed to support the child's optimal development through undergoing a process of self-construction.

6 TO 12 YEAR OLDS
Primary Years
Children from age 6 onwards enter the 'age of reason'. Children develop their critical thinking and questioning. They develop their moral and social capacities and widen their horizons.

13 TO 18 YEAR OLDS

WHAT'S THE STORY
MONTESSORI?
Maria Montessori was born in 1870 in Italy. A remarkable woman with a life-long pursuit of educational reform, she was the first woman to be granted a medical degree from an Italian University.
After graduation, Dr Montessori became a director of a school for intellectually disabled children. Due to the outstanding results, Dr Montessori used similar methodologies to work with young people.
